Agreements with societies
ESSD is corresponding with several national dysphagia associations in Europe over the possibility of their members becoming "associate" members of the ESSD. This concept was approved by the ESSD General Assembly on 23 September 2014 in Brussels. To date, the societies interested are from Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Turkey and the UK.
Associate members, according to the proposal, would have reduced fees and reduced discounts compared with full ESSD members, would not have the right to vote or hold office, and belong to their national society.
The idea behind the cooperation is to provide mutual support, dissemination of events as well as help in organizing them and exchange of expertise.
